American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora

The American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora has quickly become the cultural heart of Cuban Miami, featuring live theater, performing arts, and rotating exhibits and a new permanent exhibit, that honors the courage of those who, with cries of “Viva Cristo Rey,” chose to die standing rather than live kneeling, endured imprisonment for speaking out, or built a new city in Miami but died as exiles, “sin patria, pero sin amo.” Through this exhibit, visitors will recognize the threats to freedom today by exploring how a once-prosperous Cuba fell to dictatorship, and the enduring struggle to rebuild. At its core, the exhibit celebrates freedom and its importance in human prosperity
