The Allapattah Collaborative CDC

We work to build community ownership, small business wealth, community engagement and expand social justice advocacy. We teamed up with key community stakeholders to develop a strategic plan focused on preventing displacement and strengthening individuals, small/micro-businesses and the community by using the Main Street America Approach. Our goal is to protect and highlight the identity, charm and cultural appeal of our vulnerable neighborhood by ensuring long term residents are able to thrive in the place they built despite disparities, misinformation and disinvestment. By implementing the Main Street Approach, we highlight place-making, support wealth building and advocating for equitable community development.
