Dr. Martinez-Fernandez is the director of Outpatient Cardiology & co-director of the NeuroCardiac & Development Program within the Heart Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She also provides care as part of the multidisciplinary Spasticity & Movement Disorders Clinic team, as well as the Chromosome 22 Q Clinic team. Dr. Martinez-Fernandez earned her medical degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Martinez-Fernandez then pursued a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
